Cork North–Central is a parliamentary constituency represented in Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Irish parliament or Oireachtas. The constituency elects 4 deputies (Teachtaí Dála, commonly known as TDs). The method of election is the single transferable vote method of proportional representation (PR-STV). == History and boundaries == The constituency was created under the terms of the Electoral (Amendment) Act 1980,〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/1980/en/act/pub/0017/sched1.html )〕 taking in parts of the former Cork City and Cork Mid constituencies. It was first used at the 1981 general election as a 5-seat constituency. It was reduced to 4 seats for the 2007 general election.
